THINGS TO DO IN DALHOUSIE

Spread across 5 hills near Dhauladhar mountain range in the Himachal Pradesh, Dalhousie is a high altitude town. This tiny town is a spot of paradise for all those who love travelling. This hill station received its name after Lord Dalhousie.

THE PANCH PULLA WATERFALL

Panch pulla, meaning “five bridges”, is a mix of five streams that come together to form a single waterfall. The place is surrounded with the pine and deodar trees making a dense green surrounding. There is also a monument made in the parkland which was dedicated to the revolutionary, Sardar Ajit Singh.

KALATOP WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

It is an animal sanctuary with an area of 30.69 Km2 area covered. The natural trail that brings out the adventurous trekking and walking options amongst the exploration of the beauty of the nature itself. The sanctuary provides the trekking trails in both Kalatop and Khajjiar.

SATDHARA FALLS

The name Satdhara gives the literal meaning saying, seven springs that come together while diving into the pool together. The crystal clear water that emerges gives an intense feeling of the green environment. The place provides a bliss through the smell of the wet mud and the fresh air in taken.

TREKKING

Trekking is always a never ending to do in ones bucket list. And while in Dalhousie, the trekking options are way more available.
* GANJI PAHARI – The word gives it the meaning, Bald Hill due to the lack of the vegetation at the top of the hill.  It is a moderate level trekking point. The view point from its peak is a worth watching one.
 * DAINKUND PEAK – Among the snow filled mountain, it is one of the highest points of Dalhousie. The top view from this peak includes the several waterfalls, the view of the river etc.

SUBHASH BAOLI

Subhash Baoli, named after the freedom fighter of the nation, Subhash Chandra Bose, Baoli is an eternal and famous place for the medicinal properties helpful in many ways. The place is situated between the dense and huge trees, which gives a close look to the nature.

CHAMUNDA DEVI TEMPLE

Attached with the mythological history, the Chamunda Devi Temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali. The place provides the splendid ambience. Surrounded with the lush green area, the place consists of the various carvings and the sculpture of architecture.

ST JOHNS CHURCH

Constructed with the old style stone with the masterpiece of architecture, this church has various colours and the paintings on the glass that shows the various stories from the past that speaks a lot. There is also an old library situated in this very place consisting of a large number of books on the history and the geography on the places for the readers to explore in words.
