The Tapkeshawar Temple is located on the banks of the river Tons Nadi. It is one of the ancient most places to offer prayers to. A fair is hosted here on the auspicious occasion of Shivaratri, for which, a large crowd comes from various parts. There is a shrine that lies in a cave where water drips on top of the Shivling, after which, the name was given to it as Tapkeshawar Mahadev.
Sahastradhara is one of the most popular destinations in Uttarakhand. The word Sahastradhara means thousand fold spring. The spectacular place is indeed the beauty of nature. The water drips from the presence of limestone stalactites, which makes the water to have ample amount of sulphur in it. And this factor gives the place another name as Sulphur Springs.
