Lansdowne is a hill station located in the state of Uttarakhand at an elevation of 1,780m with an area of 6.09km2. Lansdowne received its name from Lord Lansdowne who was the viceroy of India during a period of 1888 to 1894. It is one of the serene hill stations in the nation. The place was initially founded as a military garrison under the British rule.


Surrounded by the oak and deodar trees, the Bhulla Lake is an amazing scene for the eye. The boating experience here is the best way to expose oneself into the nature and the beauty of this lake. It is always an indulging experience through the calm water of the lake through boating.


While holidaying with the family, Camping is the best way to bond among everyone in tent among the night fire and the adventure activities. The best time to enjoy the camping would be during March to June during the summers and from September to November during the autumn.


Tip N Top is a scenic place situated near to St Mary’s Church. The place is also known as Tiffin Top. The place is pleasant for a perfect family vacation filled with bird seeing, natural spots and mostly a perfect picnic spot. The top of the site provides an ultimate view of the Gharwal Hills. The hike to Tip N Top Viewpoint is considered to be one of the best thing to get done while being in Lansdowne.


Bird watching is not just for the bird lovers but also for any nature lover. Amongst the high trees and the sky, the place attracts a wide range of migratory birds from various parts to this particular region. Various migratory birds such as the Ruddy shelduck, Northern Pintail, Red Crested Pochard are mainly observed in this region. The best time to visit this place would be during the months of September and October.


One of the most enthralling activity to take part in is trekking to the Sun Viewpoint, which is an absolute moment of experience to the adventurers. The trail of the trek is through the dense forest consisting of the Himalayan vegetation and the landscapes. The point is famous for its sunset point, giving it a picture perfect place to the photographers.


Located around 35Km away from Lansdowne, Kalagarh Tiger Reserve is also a part of the renowned Jim Corbett National Park. Rich in biodiversity and the exotic range of the faunas and the floras covered with the forests. The exploration in the reserve is through the open jeep, where one can spot not just the tigers but also other animals such as elephants, porcupines, leopard and much more. The park is also home to more than 580 species of birds as well.
