THINGS TO DO IN MANALI

SOLANG VALLEY

Solang Valley is one of the quietest valleys amongst the nature, which is known for the summer and the winter sports. This valley is a side valley on top of the Kullu Valley. The temperature here drops to a level of -1 degree Celsius with the extreme chillness. December and January being the peak snowfall time, covers the area completely with snow, giving an extreme outstanding frame to the tourists. There are sport activities conducted here during the ideal time of snowfall as well. Adventure sports such as skating, paragliding, zorbing among the amazing slopes and riding a Yak is also another top explored activity.

PARAGLIDING

Paragliding is on the top of the list when it comes to the adventurous sports in the valleys situated in Manali. It is the famous sporting activity carried out in the Solang Valley among its tourists. Solang valley, being the place for an amazing treat to the wanderlusts and the traveller, provides the perfect height of experience under the clear blue sky.

NAGGAR CASTLE

The Naggar Castle is one of the most important spot for the tourists in the place of Manali. Known to have been made in the 15th century, this ancient place consists of certain amazing architectures and paintings as well.

HIDIMBA DEVI TEMPLE

Temples have always been one of the major attractions in every places visited. Varying from the culture, belief and mostly the most attractive sculptures and architecture are spotted everywhere. The Hidimba Devi Temple is known to have been built as a dedication to Hidimba Devi, the Mythological character from Mahabharata, who is the wife of Bhima and the mother of Gatothkach. The architectural style of the structure is beautifully created within. This wooden temple was made in the 15th century situated in the middle of the Dhungiri Van Vihar forest.

RAFTING

River rafting is another thrilling experience for those who visit Manali. River rafting through the cataracts of water with the gallery of the nature is another hotspot for the tourists to explore. This water sport is a remarkable experience to the flow of water among the path it flows.

TIBETAN MONASTERIES

The splendid Monasteries situated here are one of the most fascinating structures in Manali. The monasteries here are not just the place of worship but also withhold the culture, tradition and the beliefs of the Tibetan history. GadhanThekchoking Gompa and Himalayan Nyingmapa Gompa are two of the most famous monasteries in Manali.

ROHTANG

It is one of the best destinations for the adventurous and thrills loving explorers. It is known famously for the activities like paragliding, cable cars, Skiing and much more. It is known as the Snow Point of Manali. Camping is also another option in this destination. The Rohtang pass is opened up during the months from May to November due to the unpredictability of this region during the snowfalls and the snowstorms. But travelling to this place is an adventure.

THE MALL ROAD

The mall road is one of the places to explore the shops and fill with the delightness. The place consists of various shops and cafes with multiple types of products for shopping and eating as well.

MANALI WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

With the sight of the exotic flora and the fauna, this naturalistic place is covered with the lush green forest and the mountains. The sanctuary is spread over an area of almost 7,400 acres with the variety of species spotted around the place. Some of the commonly found species in this area are the Kingfishers and Kokla and this place provides an exotic experience to the Birdwatchers as well.

THE LOSSAR FESTIVAL

It is a festival in the Tibetan Buddhism. The Lossar Festival is celebrated during February or March in the Gregorian calendar which marks the Tibetan New Year. It is celebrated on the first day of the Lunisolar Tibetan Calendar. During the festival, the traditional folk dances and other art forms are performed. For those who visit the place during the Lossar Festival timing, it would be an amazing moment to watch the culture being celebrated.
