The Nainital Zoo is nestled on the Sher Ka Danda hill at an elevation of 2,100M above sea level. Established in the year 1984and opened for visiting during the year 1995, the zoo spreads around 11 acres of land. It is one of the three high altitude zoos in the nation. The zoo is home to several of the endangered species such as the Royal Bengal Tiger, Japanese Macaque, the Himalayan Bear etc. it is an exceptional sight to view the landscapes.
The Nainital Lake is a complete different experience. Other than taking the big boats for a longer ride, one could even choose the small rowing boats paddle boats and then paddle through the calm water and sail throughout.
The St John Wilderness Church is located at a distance of 1.5Km away from the Nainital Lake. This church was built in the year 1846 and is also one of the earliest buildings that are situated here. It was built in the Neo Gothic style among the deodar and pine trees on top of the hill.
The cable that runs from the Mallital to the Snow View point gives a small peak at the place of Nainital giving the view from that of a bird’s eye. It passes through the hills and the Lake and also gives views to the other points as well.
Situated in the Mall road, the Chandni Chowk is the popular place in the area, where, people come to taste the various flavours. Various mouth-watering dishes are served with the utmost taste. This is a famous place chosen by many people to eat not just y the locals, but also by the travellers and tourists who come to visit the places.
