THINGS TO DO IN UTTARAKHAND

The enchanting state of Uttarakhand is located in the Northern part of India. The state is popularly known for the various Hindu pilgrimage sites that are situated there. Uttarakhand is often referred to as “Devabhumi”, which means Land of the Gods. Uttarakhand was initially known as Uttaranchal when it was carved out from the state of Uttar Pradesh in the year 2000 to form the 27th state of the nation. The state is a complete home to various forests reserves and many sanctuaries that provides a major role not just in the tourism but also to the flora and fauna as well. Uttarakhand is popularly known for the rivers being the origin of two of the most sacred rivers in India, like the Yamuna and Ganga. Uttarakhand is the home to two of the UNESCO recognised world heritage sites, Nanda Devi National Park and Valley of Flowers.

RIVER RAFTING

River rafting is the biggest attraction in terms of adventurous sports when it comes to the state of Uttarakhand. Being one of the most adventurous activities, it attracts many tourists from various parts. Rafting is available if various places but the most vibrant and daring activity is in Rishikesh. Rafting in through the Rishikesh river, with the necessary professional guidance could be one of the most mindful and stress free thing to do.

TREKKING

The topography of Uttarakhand is formed in such a way that most of the place could be called as a trekking point. The mountains here are the adventure points which not just expose one to the beauty of the various slopes and mountains but also to the Himalayan ranges as well.  Various types of common and even very rare species of flora and the fauna are found in this area. JIM CORBETT NATIONAL PARK

The Jim Corbett National Park is a wildlife sanctuary, which is the oldest National Park in the nation established in the year 1936. The forested wildlife sanctuary is rich in its culture on the various species of the flora and the fauna. The place is known for the Bengal Tigers. In the initial days, it was established in the name of Hailey National Park to protect the Bengal Tiger that was endangered.

HARIDWAR – THE EVENING AARTI

The evening Aarti performed in Haridwar at the Har Ki Pauri Ghat is the famous attraction in this place. During the dawn, the river is changed to a river bed of floating lamps. The incense sticks and the flowers produce a different fragrant in the place that could fill anyone’s mind along with the glimpse of the perfect picture during the auspicious ambience provided.

PARAGLIDING

Paragliding is also one among the best and the popular sport activity in Uttarakhand. Ranikhet is one of the most known places for paragliding in Uttarakhand.

KEMPTY FALLS

Surrounded by the high mountain cliffs, Kempty Falls is an amazing and remarkable waterfall located at an elevation of 1372M. The Kempty waterfall is situated in the Mussoorie –Dehradun highway, which is one of the major picnic spot for the visitors. The best time to visit the place would be during the months of summer.

A perfect place to experience the sport of skiing, Uttarakhand has various spots that are snow covered with the layers that provide a different experience to the adventure seekers.
