Monks on Wheels brings back the reason for excitement with this unusual trek on the beach in Gokarna and a trail to a fine waterfalls.

Gokarna is a must visit beach town. Here’s why?

This sleepy little beach town, about 480 km from Bengaluru has the look and the feel of a place unhindered by the whirlwind progress of modern society and technology. This is a place, unaware of the concept of time and routine. Everything in the town lends to the laid-back, rustic air.

Warning: You are about to read the most exciting section, a signature hand-crafted, Monks On Wheels experience. This is for people who want to join for some true adventure and unique fun.

Short itinerary of Gokarna Beach Trek

Day 0 (Friday)

1) We say bye to Namma Bengaluru at around 10 PM.
(Please have a light dinner. We don’t want you to starve!)
2) Our experienced organizers will keep you engaged with fun ice breaker session, a great way to bond with your fellow travellers.
3) Next up? Good rest required for the adventure in waiting!.

Day 1 (Saturday)

1) Reach the campsite at Gokarna in the morning to a steaming hot cup of coffee.
2) Freshen up and have a delicious, authentic breakfast.
3) Drive to the Trek start point.
4) Start the trek from Belakan Beach.
5) Trek and cross the hillocks to reach each of the 5 beautiful beaches namely –
Paradise Beach, Half Moon Beach, Om Beach, Kudle Beach, Main Gokarna Beach.
6) Regain energy by having a lavish lunch (Unlimited on Food Menu – Veg, Egg & Chicken items only. Seafood items excluded) at the famous Namaste Café in Om Beach.
7) Continue the trek.
8) Return back to our campsite.
9) Freshen up and gather around the campfire (if weather permits).
10) I indulge in activities, or dance the evening away, hosted by our fun-experts.
11) Dig into a traditional dinner (Veg & Non Veg)
12) Sleep like a baby at our overnight stay in tents.

Day 2 (Sunday)

1) Wake up to the sounds of the waves and enjoy the morning breakfast.
2) Start your journey to the scenic Vibhoothi Waterfalls.
3) Enjoy and play in the charming waterfalls.
4) Savour a pleasant home-cooked meal for lunch.
5) Start the return journey to Bengaluru. Wait, did you think the fun was over!!?
6) Sing along, dance to good music and play interactive games on the way.
7) Have a sumptuous dinner (Unlimited on Food Menu) enroute.

Day 3 (Monday)

1) Reach Namma Bengaluru in the morning (around 5 AM) with memories of a lifetime!

i) Trek Difficulty – Easy to Moderate
ii) Trek duration – 5 – 6 hrs (Total)
iii) Trek distance – 12 km (Total)
iv) Comfortable accommodation will be in beachside tents on two or three sharing and cottages with attached bathroom on four sharing basis.

Detailed itinerary of Gokarna Beach Trek

Day 0Overnight Journey And Ice breakers

We’re sure this will not be the most memorable day of this trip but get ready to meet some friendly
strangers who will be travelling with you this trip. We will be assigning pick up locations, ideally the
closest to the pickup point you tell us. Once we pick everyone up, we will be distributing a form for
you to fill up your details and then proceeding to have an ice breaker session. Expect some fun
activities which will help you get to know your fellow travellers a bit more. After the session, our
event guides will brief you about the itinerary for the following day, post which you can get some
shut-eye on the way from Bangalore to Gokarna.

Day 1Gokarna Beach Trek through 5 beaches

We reach Gokarna beach in the morning and will be walking to your beachside tent stay which is
great because you can take in the view of the splashing waves and feel the sand beneath your feet.
On reaching our beachside stay on Gokarna Beach Temple, you will be assigned tents, yes! We will
be staying inside tents on a beach to the sound of the sea, how cool is that? You can then proceed to
have a delicious breakfast at the cafe (or choose to eat from any of the nearby shacks) and change
for the Gokarna Beach trek. We advise you wear breezy shorts, quick-dry clothes with comfortable
sandals which offer a good grip for the Gokarna trek. The speciality of the Gokarna Beach Trek is the
breathtaking views of the rocks and the view below as we climb up the hills. We will be starting
Gokarna Trek with Paradise Beach and then proceed to Half Moon Beach, Kudle Beach, Om Beach
and back to our stay at Gokarna Beach. The lunch Gokarna Trek is self-sponsored and you are free
to explore one of the quaint beachside cafes when we stop for lunch. Don’t miss out on the seafood

and coastal delicacies. Also, there will be plenty of time for you to stop at each beach during the
Gokarna Trek and take in the beautiful surroundings, watch the shellfish in the shallow, rocky waters
during the Gokarna Beach Trek. We will reach our stay in the evening just in time for the rain dance.
Dance the evening away to the top songs of the year. Once done, freshen up and gather at the
campfire where our organisers have some fun activities planned to keep you engaged all evening.
Proceed to a delicious dinner with vegetarian and non-veg options. You can then proceed to watch
the stars from the beach to the background of crashing waves or get back to the campfire. When
done, rest at your tents/cottages on the sandy beach.

Day 2Return journey to Bangalore

Wake up early (to try and escape the tan) and go for a swim in the beach, play beach volleyball, click
plenty of pictures… we’ll never run out of activities to try at the beach. After you are done, proceed
for a filling breakfast before we start our journey to Bangalore. We will be stopping for lunch and
dinner, both of which will be self-sponsored and dropping you off at your pick up points on reaching

1) You have the option to make your own transportation arrangements (car/bike/public transport) to join the event for which per person price:

Tent Stay – Rs.4569/- (No hidden charges)

Cottage Stay – Rs. 5169/- (No hidden charges)

2) Partial payment of Rs. 3300/- can be made to book your slot. Remaining amount to be paid online/cash on the day of the trip
3) Monks on Wheels trek leads will have radio communication device as a part of safety measure.
4) Comfortable accommodation will be in tents/cottages on sharing basis.
5) A Whatsapp group will be created 2-3 days before the event where all the necessary information like things to carry, pick up points, time etc will be provided.
6) We need a minimum of 9 people to conduct the event or the event might be cancelled with full refund.
7) In an extremely rare scenario, due to unforeseen incidents like natural calamities, road blocks etc. or restrictions by the government or forest department, the itinerary might be changed/modified depending on the situation.

COVID-19 Safety & Guidelines:

Before the event:
1) Only register for the event if you don’t have any symptoms of COVID-19 from the past 14 days.
2) Try to avoid crowded places as much as possible once you register for the event.
3) If you develop COVID-19 symptoms after registering for the event, please do not join the event.
4) MW organizers will be checked for temperature and any symptoms of COVID-19 before joining the tour.
5) Age should be in the range of 18-48 years to join the event.
During the event:
1) Participants will be checked for their body temperature and pulse rate before the start of the event. Anyone with a fever/flu like symptoms, temperature and pulse rate above/below the average range will not be allowed to join the trip.
2) Meals during the journey will be provided at a good and hygienic restaurant. Participants may carry their own plate/lunch box/spoon for all meals provided during the trip.
3) Participants are expected to sanitize themselves regularly and wear masks at all possible times.
4) Avoid interaction with other groups or people outside of the event group.
5) If a participant develops COVID-19 symptoms during the journey, only the that person will be isolated, taken to a nearest hospital and arrangements for that person to return will be made. No one will be allowed to accompany that person.
6) Valid ID proof to be carried.
The surroundings around the Home stay will make you feel very close to Nature.
We would like to reiterate & be understood that it is a no-frills nature retreat & not a luxury resort but you can definitely trust us to give you the most thrilling experience and the best premium hospitality.

1. What is Partial Payment? If partial payment is done, how to pay the remaining amount?
A: Partial payment is an advance paid to block your slot for a particular event. Remaining amount of the event to be paid online/cash on the day of the trip.
2. What kind of transport will be arranged by Monks on Wheels?
A: Monks on Wheels will be arranging an Non – AC tempo traveller or a mini bus depending on the group size.
3. From where will the transportation be arranged?
A: The transport will be arranged from Bengaluru.
4. Where will be pick up points be in Bengaluru?
A: Monks on Wheels will be providing multiple pick up points in Bengaluru and the same will be conveyed with timings 2-3 days before the event.
5. Where should we join, in case we are coming by our own transport arrangements?
A: Once your registration is confirmed, Monks on Wheels shall provide the exact location of our venue 2-3 days before the event.
6. Is there any age limit for Monks on Wheels’ trips?
A: Monks on Wheels do not restrict on the age as each individual has their own capabilities. But we would strongly recommend you to contact us so that our travel expert can give you a better idea of the trip.
7. What kind of events are these?
A: These are group events open to all categories of people.
8. How safe is it for women travelers?
A: Yes, It is completely safe for women travelers. Monks on Wheels events are done keeping certain standards and safety measures. We will always send a minimum of two trip organizers for all our events (many of them women trek leads). 9. What is the ratio of Men & Women in your events?
A: Monks on Wheels usually have more women travelers joining our trips. However, sometimes the ratio will be almost equal.
10. Do you have women trek organizers in Monks on Wheels?
A: Yes, in fact most of Monks on Wheels trek leads are women.
11. What type of venue will it be for the overnight stay? Whether accommodation will be separate for men and women?
A: Monks on Wheels keeps certain quality standards where we provide venues like home stays or campsites that are good and hygienic with neat and clean washrooms.
And yes, we always provide separate accommodation for men and women.

Refund and Cancellation Policy:

1. If the notice is received more than 20 days prior to the event, 100% of the event amount paid will be refunded.

2. If the notice is received up to 20 days prior to the event, 50% of the event amount paid shall be refunded.

3. All cancellation requests made 5 days prior or on the day of the event, no refund will be made.

4. No refund will be made for any type of cancellation if partial payment is done.
