Some of the key highlights and brief intro on each destination:
1. Kudremukha Trek:
Kudremukh National Park, situated in the Western Ghats in Karnataka, India, spans over 600 square kilometers and was established in 1987. The name ‘Kudremukh’ translates to ‘Horse’s Face’, referring to the unique shape of the mountain that resembles a horse’s face. Rich in flora and fauna, this national park is an integral part of the Western Ghats, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and plays a crucial role in maintaining the ecological balance of the region. The Kudremukh trek promises a heart-pounding adventure, unveiling panoramic views at every turn.
2. Koodlutheertha Falls:
Koodlu Theertha Falls, located near Agumbe in the Shimoga district of Karnataka, India, is one of the lesser-explored waterfalls in the Western Ghats. The name “Koodlu Theertha” is believed to mean “jump of the river” in the local language. This waterfall is a part of the Seetha River, and it cascades from a height of about 300 feet. Agumbe itself is known for its lush rainforests, biodiversity, and being called the “Cherrapunji of the South” due to its heavy rainfall, making it a hotspot for ecology researchers and enthusiasts.
3. Kodachadri Trek:
Kodachadri is steeped in ancient legends, being associated with the Hindu epic, the Ramayana; it’s believed that the sage Adi Shankaracharya meditated on this peak, and subsequently, a temple, the Sarvajna Peetha, was erected in his honor. Over time, as tourism and adventure activities gained popularity, Kodachadri emerged as a sought-after trekking destination, drawing both spiritual seekers and adventure enthusiasts to its verdant trails. The Kodachadri trek isn’t just a hike; it’s an odyssey through time, nature, and beauty, waiting for you to uncover its secrets amidst the clouds
