Monks on Wheels in collaboration with Muddie Trails presents to you Ride to Gandikota and Belum Caves, a 2-day alluring experience to the great India canyons and mystical underground caves.
Gandikota and Belum Caves are awesome! Here’s why?
Gandikota is called the Grand Canyon of India by many travellers. A rustic experience exploring the fort and an outstanding view of the gorge formed by the river Penna.
Belum Caves is the second longest cave which is over a thousand years old and was formed by the flow of underground water.

Warning: You are about to read the most exciting section, a signature hand-crafted, Monks On Wheels experience. This is for people who want to join for some true adventure and unique fun.

Short Itinerary

Day 1 (Saturday)
1) We say bye to Namma Bengaluru at around 5 AM.
2) A short stop for Breakfast (self-sponsored) enroute.
3) Reach Belum caves to witness the wonders of the underground world.
4) Have lunch (self-sponsored) at a local joint near the caves.
5) Continue the ride to Gandikota.
6) Visit the Grand Canyon of India
7)  Relax to view a very stunning sunset at the gorges.
8) Return back to the campsite
9) Warm-up, indulge in activities, or dance the evening away, hosted by our fun-experts.
10) Dig into a traditional dinner (Veg & Non-veg)
11) Sleep like a baby overnight in tents on 2-3.
Day 2 (Sunday)
1) Wake up to the sounds of nature to the surreal sunrise at the gorges.
2) Short hike down to the Penna river at the bottom of gorges in Gandikota to have a peaceful swim.
3) Return back to the campsite and enjoy the morning breakfast.
4) Check-out from the campsite
5) Ride to Mylavaram reservoir for a scenic panoramic view.
6) Start the return journey to Bengaluru and lunch (self-sponsored) enroute.
7) Reach Namma Bengaluru at the night (around 8 PM) with memories of a lifetime!

Price per person: Rs. 2599/- (No Hidden Charges)

Advisory

1) Participants should make their own transport arrangements (bike/car).
2) Total ride distance will be approximately 420 km
3) Accommodation will be in tents on 2-3 sharing.
4) A Whatsapp group will be created 2-3 days before the event where all the necessary information like things to carry, assembly point, time etc will be provided.
5) We need a minimum of 6 people to conduct the event or the event might be cancelled with full refund.
6) In an extremely rare scenario, due to unforeseen incidents like natural calamities, road blocks etc. or restrictions by the government or forest department, the itinerary might be changed/modified depending on the situation.
In case you are looking for bike rentals and riding gears-
7) If you don’t have a motorcycle, rent a ride at Royal Brothers at a special discount price.
8) For safety gear and touring accessories, rent or buy at Gear N Ride at a special discount price.

Double dose vaccination of COVID-19 or RTPCR Test report of COVID-19 less than 72 hours is mandatory for all participants.

Ride Rule & Instructions

1. Helmet is Mandatory for both Rider and pillion
2. Riding gear is highly recommended.
3. Drink and Drive strictly prohibited
4. A leader and Sweeper will be assigned. All the riders have to stay between the two.
5. All riders need to get and have valid driver’s licenses and vehicle documents.
6. Make sure your bike is serviced and in good condition.
7. Only motorcycles of 150cc and above are allowed.

General FAQs

Partial payment is an advance paid to block your slot for a particular event. Remaining amount of the event to be paid online/cash on the day of the trip.

Monks on Wheels will be arranging an Non – AC tempo traveller or a mini bus depending on the group size.

The transport will be arranged from Bengaluru.

Our trips would get confirmed 2-3 days before the event date and you’ll be added to the trip’s WhatsApp group where you’ll receive further necessary information.

Once your registration is confirmed, Monks on Wheels shall provide the exact location of our venue 2-3 days before the event.

Monks on Wheels do not restrict on the age as each individual has their own capabilities. But we would strongly recommend you to contact us so that our travel expert can give you a better idea of the trip.

These are group events open to all categories of people.

Yes, It is completely safe for women travelers. Monks on Wheels events are done keeping certain standards and safety measures. We will always send a minimum of two trip organizers for all our events. For better understanding on how we manage trips, read these reviews by our solo women travelers.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. If the notice is received more than 20 days prior to the event, 100% of the event amount paid will be refunded.
2. If the notice is received up to 20 days prior to the event, 50% of the event amount paid shall be refunded.
3. All cancellation requests made 5 days prior or on the day of the event, no refund will be made.
4. No refund will be made for any type of cancellation if partial payment is done.
