Nestled at the foothills of the Nilgiris, Bandipur is one of India’s top tiger reserves and a hotspot for wildlife photography workshops. Join expert naturalists on daily safaris, capturing rare shots of predators, vibrant birds, and dramatic forest scenes. With over 200 bird species and rich biodiversity, every frame tells a story. Stay at the Bandipur Safari Lodge, unwind by the campfire, and let your lens do the talking in this unforgettable photography adventure.

Short Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival & Introduction to Wildlife Photography

Arrival at the wildlife resort at 12 Noon, followed by check-in and a welcome drink.
Introduction to the tour, meet the photography guide and fellow participants.
Lunch at the resort, followed by relaxation time.
Photography Workshop (Part 1): Understanding wildlife photography, camera settings, techniques, and tips for shooting in nature.
3:00 PM – Safari Adventure: Set out on a guided wildlife safari. Practice photography skills in the natural habitat of local wildlife.
Return to the resort for Hi-Tea and snacks. Quick review of the day’s shots and feedback from the photography expert.
Dinner at the resort.
Storytelling and discussion about wildlife.
Overnight stay in JLR Bandipur Safari Lodge

Day 2 : In-Depth Photography Practice

Early morning wake-up call at 5:00 AM with tea/coffee.
06:00 AM – Morning Safari: Explore the forest with the guidance of an experienced naturalist and capture wildlife during golden hour.
Photography Workshop (Part 2): Focus on composition, lighting techniques, and post-processing tips
Return to the resort for breakfast.
Leisure Time/Stroll through the river side property, spotting exotic birds and animals while improving close-up photography skills.
Lunch at the resort.
03:00 PM – Safari Expedition: Chase the light for the evening’s best wildlife shots.
Return to the resort for Hi-tea and snacks. Review of images with expert tips on improvements.
Dinner at the resort, followed by an informal photography Q&A with the guide.

Day 3 : Final Safari & Farewell

06:00 AM – Morning Safari: Capture the last shots of this immersive wildlife experience, focusing on learning advanced techniques.
Return to the resort for breakfast.
Photography Workshop (Part 3): Recap of the workshop, sharing of experiences, and discussion on editing and post-production.
11:00 AM – Check out of the resort

Advisory

You have to make your own transportation arrangements (car/motorcycle) to join the event.
Premium accommodation in AC Maharaja/Viceroy Rooms will be on single/double occupancy in JLR property
A Whatsapp group will be created 2-3 days before the event where all other the necessary information will be provided.
In an extremely rare scenario, due to unforeseen incidents like natural calamities, road blocks etc. or restrictions by the government or forest department, the itinerary might be changed/modified depending on the situation.
Age criteria: 12 years and above will be treated as adults
Batch Size: Minimum 4 and Maximum 12 pax
There will additional charges for cameras and lenses during safaris depending on the type and size respectively.
Do not play loud music or speaking loudly in forest areas which would attract/disturb wildlife.
Animals will be in their natural habitat in the wild so Monks on Wheels or any one associated will not guarantee sightings of wildlife at any point of the trip.
Drone flying is strictly prohibited in forest areas and heritage places. Please check with the tour coordinator before flying.
Pets are strictly not allowed.
Dress for comfort. Do avoid bright colours and stick to muted shades of green, black, grey and brown. The more you meld with the background, the better.
Avoid smoking in forest areas.
Tariff may change without prior notice.
Certain activities mentioned in the itinerary are time sensitive. Please maintain time where its necessary to have a hassle-free experience.
All activities to be done under expert supervision.

Partial payment is an advance paid to block your slot for a particular event. Remaining amount of the event to be paid online/cash on the day of the trip.

What kind of transport will be arranged by Monks on Wheels?

Monks on Wheels will be arranging an Non – AC tempo traveller or a mini bus depending on the group size.

From where will the transportation be arranged?

The transport will be arranged from Bengaluru.

After booking a trip, when will I receive further updates?

Our trips would get confirmed 2-3 days before the event date and you’ll be added to the trip’s WhatsApp group where you’ll receive further necessary information.

Where should we join, in case we are coming by our own transport arrangements?

Once your registration is confirmed, Monks on Wheels shall provide the exact location of our venue 2-3 days before the event.

Is there any age limit for Monks on Wheels’ trips?

Monks on Wheels do not restrict on the age as each individual has their own capabilities. But we would strongly recommend you to contact us so that our travel expert can give you a better idea of the trip.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Read the refund and cancellation policy for this event

1. If the notice is received more than 30 days prior to the event, 100% of the event amount paid will be refunded.
2. If the notice is received in between 29 – 21 days prior to the event, 50% of the event amount paid shall be refunded.
3. All cancellation requests made 20 – 0 days prior or on the day of the event, no refund will be made.
4. No refund will be made for any type of cancellation if partial payment is done.
